Hospital Anti-Infectives

An Insight Syndication Report

Like many pharmaceutical products used in hospitals there is a significant lack of sales data. As such many pharmaceutical manufactures of these products have little information about how their drugs are being used, to whom they are prescribed, and for what indications.

This Insight Syndication report on Hospital Anti-infective Use is conducted via a pharmacy order audit to accurately assess hospital usage of current and emerging antibiotics and antifungal products within major infection sites, such as: SSTI/SSSI, Abdominal, Respiratory, Genitourinary, Diabetic Foot and Systemic Infections.

Key Study Objectives:

  • Understand the usage of current and emerging antibiotics and antifungal products between SSTI/SSSI, Abdominal, Respiratory, Genitourinary, Diabetic Foot Infection and Systemic Infections
  • Determine the share of prescriptions by brand and indication per region
  • Determine brand, dosage, strength, form and length of therapy by indication
  • Determine the source for new growth or decline of key products

Additional Study Details

  • Sample Size (Pharmacy Audit): approximately 1,250 pharmacy orders from 50 hospital pharmacies across Canada
  • Final Deliverable: Excel workbook* with pivot tables providing full access to the data
  • Anticipated Field Schedule: contact us for more details

*The Excel workbook will contain pivot tables with access to the full data set. Users may view the data via the following variables: Primary infection site; Diagnosis; Drug information (indication, line of use, dosage, administration, dispensed as written); Therapy Type (prophylaxis, treatment); Hospital formulary coverage; Patient demographics (gender, age, co-morbidities); and Region.
